Laura McCarthy

Laura has studied at the Boston School of Ballet under E. Virginia Williams and the American Ballet Studio with Arlene Ashton. For the past twenty-two years, she has

studied with Marjorie Randazzo. Other significant influences include Margaret Craske, Violet Verdy, Patricia Wilde, and Anthony Randazzo. Laura is a General Board member of the Cecchetti Council of America and holds her Diploma Teachers Certificate of the Cecchetti Council of America.

In 1971 Laura established the Nashua School of Ballet, where she was an instructor and Artistic Director. She founded the Nashua Ballet Company in 1973. After coming to Michigan, Laura taught at Dance Theatre II, La Danse, and Ann Arbor Recreation Department. She has been a key instructor at Randazzo Dance from 1993-1994, and since Fall of 2002. From 1996 to 2002, Laura was co- owner and Artistic Director of Dance Arts of Chelsea. Laura’s performances include dancing with the Boston Ballet, Nashua Ballet Company and the Ypsilanti Area Dancers. Currently, Laura teaches ballet and Cecchetti for Randazzo Dance as well as ballet performance for Randazzo Dance Company (formerly Ypsilanti Area Dancers).

She also serves as Directors Assistant for Randazzo Dance Company.
